Latest Happenings....
June 14, 2010
Troop 964 has had a lot of activities happen and a lot more coming up.
First, the events that are coming up are: Selling Sno Cones at Paulas Park,
Owasippe, and The National Jamboree.
- Selling Sno Cones at Paulas Park will be an event starting at 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. where we will be selling Sno Cones at Paulas Park to the hot and sweaty people at the fourth of July festival.
- Owasippe is a one week campout where scouts will be able to earn various merit badges and have a very fun time. If you go, be sure to tease Paul Kerchberger about "Brittany".
- Finally, The 2010 National Boy Scouts Jamboree is an eighteen day campout in the East Coast. This includes the U.S. capital and hearing the president speak, camping in Fort A.P. hill in Virginia, and white water rafting.
Some events that have happened recently are:
The Retiring of the flags, The Memorial Day Parade, and The "Leave No Trace" campout at Lakota.
- Selling Sno Cones at Paulus Park, we gathered outside of the Legion hall and put down old flags.
- At Owasippe as usual, we walked from the Legion hall to the Police station. During the speech however, it started to rain very badly, so we moved inside the police station to continue with the speech.
- The 2010 National Boy Scouts Jamboree was easily the funnest campout I've ever gone on. There were so many activities, I couldn't come close to
completing even half of them. At the arena shows, we got to see a lot of really
cool people and demonstrations. Such as some military Paratroopers
parashooting down into the arena captained by the military captains in charge of the paratrooping group. We saw Honor Society and Switchfoot perform at the last arena show. Then we went to West Virginia and went white water rafting. All in all, the Jamboree was a blast.
