Latest Happenings....

June 14, 2010

Troop 964 has had a lot of activities happen and a lot more coming up.

First, the events that are coming up are:
Cuba Road Cleanup, Fall Camporee, and Lakewood Forest Preserve hosting Welbos Scouts.
- Cuba Road CLeanup is going to take place on October 8th. If you want to
help out, be at the Issac Fox elementary school at 9 AM. We will walk up
Cuba road picking up any trash we find. Pick up is at the Legion Hall by noon.
- Fall Camporee is going to be a weekend long campout from October 21st-23rd.
- Finally, Lakewood Forest Preserve hosting Webelos scouts is on November 11th, and goes on until the 13th.

Some events that have happened recently are:
Owassippe, The Space Jamboree, and Seward Bluffs WWII re-enactment.
- Owassippe really had an awesome 100th year anniversary. We spent seven
days, as usual, up at the camp. It was a little hot this year, but that still
wasn't enough to extinguish the spirits of our fellow scouts. We all had a
great time and can't wait for next year.
- At the Space Jamboree, we all got to sleep in an old airforce base. There
was a museum all about various flying machines and a hangar filled with
older planes and missiles. There were also lots of merit badges to work on
there. It was a great time and I can't wait for next year.
-Seward Bluffs WWII re-enactment was a fantastic demonstration of what
WWII would have been like. We stayed in a new campsite this year and it
was pretty good. The re-enactment was amazing. We got a tor of the German
camp and got to see a little of the weaponry that the Germans used. All in all, it was a great campout... If only the Germans didn't win the last battle while
we were there.
